Microsoft Teams Setup

Connect Microsoft Teams so your team can chat with Junto's AI agent without leaving their messaging app. Technicians get the same AI-powered assistance available in the Junto web app, delivered natively in Teams conversations.

What You Get

  • Ask questions and get answers in Teams, powered by all your connected integrations.
  • Approve or deny tool usage with inline buttons -- no need to switch apps.
  • Streaming responses so you see the agent working in real time.
  • Threaded conversations -- each conversation is its own session.
  • Notifications -- receive Action Requests, triage summaries, and time entry nudges as direct messages.

Prerequisites

  • Microsoft 365 tenant admin access (required for admin consent)
  • Access to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center (required to upload the app)

Setup

  1. In Junto, go to Settings > Integrations > Teams.
  2. Click Connect Teams.
  3. A Microsoft admin must complete the consent flow in the popup to authorize the Junto bot in your tenant.

Step 2: Verify Permissions

After consent is granted, the settings page shows the status of required permissions. If any permissions are missing, click Grant Admin Consent to open the Azure admin consent dialog.

Step 3: Install the Bot in Teams

  1. Click Download Manifest to get the Junto AI Teams app package (a ZIP file).
  2. Open the Microsoft Teams Admin Center and navigate to Manage apps.
  3. Click Upload new app and upload the downloaded ZIP.
  4. Assign the app to your users or allow it org-wide.

Once installed, your team can find Junto AI in the Teams app store and start chatting in 1:1 conversations or group chats.

User Matching

Junto automatically matches each Teams user to their Junto account by email address. The user's Junto role and permissions apply to everything the agent does in that conversation. If no matching account is found, the bot does not respond.

Admins can review and manage user mappings from Settings > Integrations > Teams > Manage Users.

Notification Channels

With Teams connected, you can also configure notification channels to route alerts and updates to specific Teams channels. See Notification Channels for details.

Disconnecting

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Teams.
  2. Click Disconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • Bot not responding -- Verify the integration is connected in Settings and that the user's email matches a Junto account.
  • "Need admin approval" -- A Microsoft 365 tenant admin must complete the consent flow. Workspace-level admin access is not sufficient.
  • Permissions missing after consent -- Click Refresh on the permissions status. If still missing, use the Grant Admin Consent button.
  • Bot not appearing in Teams -- Ensure the manifest was uploaded in the Teams Admin Center and assigned to users.
  • Conversations feel out of context -- Start a new conversation to begin a fresh session.
