Pax8 Setup

Pax8 is a cloud distribution platform used by MSPs to manage Microsoft 365 licenses, Azure services, and other cloud subscriptions. Once connected, Junto can look up subscription details, check license counts, browse the product catalog, and adjust subscription quantities.

Prerequisites

  • A Pax8 partner account with API access
  • OAuth 2.0 credentials (Junto connects via managed OAuth)

Step 1: Connect via OAuth

  1. In Junto, go to Settings > Integrations > Pax8.
  2. Click Connect to start the OAuth flow.
  3. Authenticate with your Pax8 partner credentials and authorize the requested scopes.
  4. After authorization, you are redirected back to Junto with an active connection.

Step 2: Map Companies

  1. Use the company mapping interface to link each Junto company to its Pax8 customer record.
  2. Save mappings.

The agent supports auto-translation: if it receives a Junto company ID, it automatically resolves it to the mapped Pax8 customer ID.

Subscription Quantity Changes

Updating subscription quantities has direct billing implications:

  • Increases -- Adding seats takes effect immediately and is billed in the next cycle.
  • Decreases -- For Microsoft NCE subscriptions, quantity decreases may be restricted during the commitment term.
  • Approval -- All quantity changes require explicit approval. The agent presents the current quantity, proposed change, and billing impact before requesting confirmation.

Troubleshooting

  • OAuth connection fails -- Verify your Pax8 account has API access enabled. Contact Pax8 support if needed.
  • Company not found -- Ensure the Junto company is mapped to the correct Pax8 customer.
  • Quantity decrease rejected -- Microsoft NCE subscriptions may restrict decreases during the commitment term. Check the subscription's commitment end date.
