Notification Channels
Notification channels let you route Junto notifications to specific Slack or Teams channels. When the AI agent sends an alert during a runbook, posts a status update, or shares a recommendation, notification channels control where those messages go.
Overview
Junto organizes notifications into categories:
- Alerts -- Urgent, time-sensitive notifications such as incidents or critical findings.
- Updates -- Progress reports, status changes, and recurring summaries.
Each category can be routed to one or more Slack or Teams channels. For example, you might send alerts to a #critical-incidents Slack channel and updates to a #junto-updates Teams channel.
Prerequisites
At least one messaging integration must be connected:
Configuring Notification Channels
- Go to Settings > Notifications.
- Under the Channels tab, click Add Channel.
- Select the notification category (Alerts or Updates).
- Choose the provider (Slack or Teams).
- Select the destination channel from the dropdown.
- Save.
You can add multiple channels per category. Notifications fan out to all configured channels for that category.
Using Notifications in Runbooks
When the AI agent executes a runbook, it can send messages to your configured notification channels. This is useful for:
- Alerting the team when an incident is detected during automated remediation.
- Posting progress updates during long-running procedures.
- Notifying a channel when a runbook completes.
The agent can also send direct messages to specific team members by name.
TIP
Notification channels are for internal MSP team communication only. They are not used to contact end customers.
Managing Channels
From the Settings > Notifications > Channels tab, you can:
- View all configured channels with their category, provider, and destination.
- Toggle channels Active or inactive to pause delivery.
- Delete channels you no longer need.
Troubleshooting
- No channels available in dropdown -- Ensure Slack or Teams is connected in Settings > Integrations first.
- Notifications not arriving -- Verify the channel is set to Active and that the destination channel still exists in Slack or Teams.
- Agent not sending notifications during runbooks -- At least one notification channel must be configured for the relevant category.
