ScalePad Setup

ScalePad gives Junto asset-lifecycle and backup context for your clients. Once connected, the AI agent can check a device's age, warranty status, and replacement flag from Lifecycle Manager, and confirm whether a client's backups are actually running from Backup Radar — useful on slow-computer, hardware-failure, and restore/data-loss tickets.

ScalePad is read-only. The agent looks up lifecycle and backup information but never changes anything in ScalePad.

Prerequisites

  • A ScalePad account with Lifecycle Manager (and optionally Backup Radar)
  • An active ScalePad Administrator, required to generate an API key
  • Your ScalePad API key

Step 1: Generate an API Key

  1. Log in to ScalePad as an Administrator.
  2. Go to Account → API Keys.
  3. Create a new API key and copy it.

Step 2: Configure in Junto

  1. In Junto, go to Settings > Integrations > ScalePad.
  2. Click Add configuration and enter your API Key. The key is encrypted before storage.
  3. Click Create. Junto validates the key against ScalePad before saving.

ScalePad is an organization-wide integration — you add a single API key for your MSP, not one per client.

Step 3: Map Companies to ScalePad Clients

So the agent surfaces the right client's assets, link each Junto company to its ScalePad client.

  1. On the ScalePad configuration card, click Manage Company Mapping.
  2. Use Auto-map to have Junto suggest matches by name, then review the suggestions.
  3. Confirm the suggested matches or adjust any mapping manually, then save.

What the Agent Can Do

All ScalePad tools are read-only and never require approval.

Lifecycle Manager

ToolDescriptionRisk Level
List Client Hardware AssetsList a client's hardware (workstations, servers, network gear) with warranty and replacement-flag status for eachLow
Get Hardware AssetLook up full lifecycle and warranty detail for a single device by serial number or asset — including age, warranty status, and replacement flagLow
Get Hardware DashboardGet a client-level rollup: device counts by type, how many are due or soon due for replacement, and how many have expired or soon-expiring warrantiesLow

Backup Radar

ToolDescriptionRisk Level
Get Backup HealthCheck whether a client's backups are running, with the latest compliance counts and, optionally, per-job last-run statusLow

TIP

On a slow-computer or hardware-failure ticket, the agent can check the device's replacement flag before spending time troubleshooting hardware that's already flagged for replacement. On a restore or data-loss ticket, it can confirm backup health before anything else.

Troubleshooting

  • Connection fails -- Verify the API key is correct and was generated by an active Administrator. Regenerate the key in ScalePad if it may have been revoked.
  • No assets found for a client -- Check that the Junto company is mapped to the correct ScalePad client in Manage Company Mapping.
  • Backup health unavailable -- Backup Radar must be licensed for your ScalePad account. If it isn't, backup checks report that the module isn't in use rather than failing.
