ClickUp Setup

Connect ClickUp so Junto's AI agent can reference your organization's projects, tasks, and documentation during triage and chat. You control exactly which spaces the agent can see and what a "project" means in each one.

What You Get

  • Project and task lookups — the agent can browse and search the spaces you include when answering questions or working tickets.
  • Space-level control — expose only the spaces you choose, each with a description that gives the agent context about how the space is used.
  • Docs in your knowledge base (optional) — index your ClickUp Docs nightly so the agent can search them alongside your other documentation sources.

Prerequisites

  • Admin or Owner role in Junto
  • A ClickUp account with access to the workspace you want to connect

Setup

Step 1: Generate a ClickUp API Token

  1. In ClickUp, click your avatar and go to Settings > Apps.
  2. Under API Token, click Generate (or Regenerate).
  3. Copy the token — it starts with pk_.

Tip: The agent sees ClickUp through this token's account, so use an account with access to all the spaces you plan to include.

Step 2: Connect in Junto

  1. In Junto, go to Settings > Integrations > ClickUp.
  2. Paste your Personal API token and click Connect ClickUp. You can leave the workspace field blank — your workspace is detected automatically.
  3. Click Test connection to verify the token works.
  4. Click Load spaces to pull in the spaces from your workspace.
  5. Configure each space (see below), then click Save changes.

Configuring Spaces

Each space in your workspace appears with its own settings:

SettingWhat it does
IncludeToggles whether the agent can see this space at all. Leave spaces you don't want exposed turned off.
DescriptionA short note on what the space is used for (e.g., "Client infrastructure projects"). The agent uses this to decide when the space is relevant.
A project is a…Tells the agent what a "project" means in this space: a Folder, a List, or a Task. Pick the level that matches how your team organizes work.

Only included spaces are visible to the agent. You can change these settings at any time — click Save changes to apply.

Docs Ingestion

To make your ClickUp Docs searchable in Junto, turn on Ingest docs. Junto indexes your Docs into the knowledge base on a nightly schedule, so the agent can surface them the same way it surfaces articles from your other documentation sources.

Newly written Docs appear in search results after the next nightly sync.

Disconnecting

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > ClickUp.
  2. Click Disconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • Test connection fails — Verify the token was copied completely (it starts with pk_) and hasn't been regenerated in ClickUp since you connected. Regenerating invalidates the old token — paste the new one and reconnect.
  • No spaces appear — Click Load spaces again and verify your ClickUp account has access to the spaces you expect.
  • Docs not showing up in search — Confirm Ingest docs is enabled and allow for the next nightly sync to complete.
  • Agent can't find a project — Check that the space is set to Include and that the A project is a… setting matches where projects actually live in that space.
